Administration
1. Distributed 90% of Financial Report for 2007. Remainder are units for sale,
owner traveling, etc.
2. Need to set a date for annual membership meeting in September. First notice
must be mail at least 60 days in advance of meeting. Are there any issues to be
voted on by the membership such as waiving of audit requirement?
3. Had Ford Taurus towed from north lot. Vehicle allegedly owned by daughter of
person that was arrested.
4. Need to work on rules and regulations and schedule of fines for violations.
Building and Property
1. An obstruction in the 06 stack kitchen main drain caused water to back up into
#606. Units thereunder had wet walls from the overrun. Est. cost $5,000 to dry,
remediate and restore affected units.
2. Spa drained and refurbished with epoxy coating and new “eyelets.” Ron built a
new bench for room.
3. Crawford repaired electrical circuit that burned. This circuit served garage lights
at the south fascia.
4. Began general clean-up of floors after Intron Technologies departure. Everything
is filthy from concrete dirt and dust.
5. Started work on planters but not much progress.
6. Activity level increased in building…people enjoying the beach and pool.
7. Generator is down. Told Zabatt Co. to repair and have running ASAP. Needs a
new battery charger and fuel lines.

AND NOW FOR A GIGGLE....
The Brief has posted helpful hints several times. Sometimes the times call for a laugh....especially after the death of someone like George Carlin. Ergo, I present for your amusement:
AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. IF YOU'RE CHOKING ON AN ICE CUBE, SIMPLY POUR A CUP OF BOILING WATER DOWN YOUR THROAT. PRESTO! THE BLOCKAGE WILL INSTANTLY REMOVE ITSELF.
2. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.
3. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT - USE THE SINK.
4. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.
5. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.
6. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.
7. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.
8. REMEMBER - EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM.
9. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
DAILY THOUGHT: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING, BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

SAFETY COMMITTEE
On Friday, May 30, 2008, Detective Keen, of the Jax Beach Police Department, discussed safety at Pelican Point.
His conclusions:
Pelican Point is a safe building, with our problems emanating from one unit. A neighborhood Watch program or security guards are not necessary. However, for a safer Pelican Point:
1. Do not let anyone into the building that you do not personally know - no exceptions.
2. Since the most serious threat to our safety is from guests residing in the building who have repeatedly caused disturbances. call the Police when you feel threatened by someone on your floor, in the parking lot or garage. Also call Police for loud parties, suspicious activity near the building, i.e. loiterers.
3. An incident log will be kept in the Office for residents to report suspicious or disruptive activity that does not merit police intervention. The log will be analyzed by the Police periodically.

NOTICE TO ALL OWNERS
Believe it or not we have ended construction on the main building and about to begin painting.
There are concerns with painting contractors. Please come to the next monthly Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 and participate.
Are you UNHAPPY?....
We will be electing new Board Members in September. Now is the time to step up to the plate and take responsibility for your home and/or rental unit. If you want to be elected to the Board, you have to submit a form. One will be sent to you or you can request one from Bill.
NEW BLOOD IS NEEDED.
